Mornings in Central Park. There's just a feel to these sessions.
It's calm and peaceful, but exciting at the same time. We love morning sessions here for the light, the access to some of the park's most iconic locations, and especially for all the dogs 🤣. We're a little jealous of anyone who can pretty much call Central Park their backyard.
Jamie and Maxx are those people. They live nearby, got engaged here, and love everything about this city. It made perfect sense to have Central Park as the backdrop for their engagement session, and it definitely wasn't hard to convince us to meet them there.
One thing we have to admit is that we received a compliment during this session that really stuck with us:
"Thank you for not being weird."
A few simple words, but they meant a lot.
We laughed when we heard it because, honestly, the bar seems pretty low 🤣. But the more we thought about it, the more we realized what a meaningful compliment it actually was. What we heard wasn't just "you're not weird." What we heard was "we felt comfortable."
And that's something we care deeply about.
We know that most people don't spend their weekends being photographed by strangers. Showing up in front of a camera can feel awkward, vulnerable, and a little intimidating. Our goal is to make that part disappear as quickly as possible. We want our couples to feel like they're spending time with friends who happen to have cameras in their hands.
Because when people feel comfortable, they're free to be themselves. The laughs become real. The hugs happen naturally. The little interactions that make a relationship unique start to show up without us having to force them. That's the environment we're always trying to create, because those genuine moments are what make the photos feel like you.
We can't wait to photograph these two again!
